Vijay Santhanam graduated from the University of Roorkee - now the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee - in 1986 and the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad in 1988. In his 21 years of corporate (marketing) career, he worked for Godrej Soaps, Procter & Gamble and Castrol.
